Anal glands. Isis is scooting across the carpet and licking all the fur off her butt. It's anal glands that need attention, right? Does it hurt her when the vet expresses them? Isis is a terrible patient.
I just checked my spelling of express - and one of the definitions was:
A rapid, efficient system for the delivery of goods. Hee, Hee!

It's probably very unpleasant... yuck! Olivia had it once but cat malt cured it ;-)
I've never had it done, but I hear that it's verrrrrrry smelly!
I actually had that done and felt better afterwards. Could be worms too though. Purrs, Siena
Yep, sounds like anal glands...Zoey "expressed" them herself at the vets office one time...very smelly...they had to give her a bath after that!
Unfortunately, I've had it done a few times at the vet. It's a little uncomfortable and I yelled, but you'll feel a lot better once it is done.
We've never had this done, but are sorry to hear Isis is having troubles.
Are you sure she's not constipated? If it is her anal glands, I don't know if it hurts but it's over quickly. My male cat had it done and he squirmed (usual at the vet's) but didn't cry or anything. Good luck!
eeeew!!! take a camera for the blog though!
