911

911 was one of those times I will always remember where I was and what I was doing. Like the Challenger exploding and killing of JFK, accident with Princess Di.

We remember!

I was at home, my then 3 year old autistic had just finished her usual Tuesday play therapy with her play therapist, when my mother called me from her work to say a plane had hit the World Trade Centre. I thought it was a joke at first

I turned the news on, just in time to see the second plane hit.

I will never forget!

I know. My first class of kids had just settled down to work when the teacher next door to me called me over to her door to see the news. Within 2 minutes the second plane hit. I remember feeling that it wasn't really real.... The rest of the day was surreal. Kids and adults crying. Frantic calls to NYC by staff with relatives there. I felt stunned for days.

I will never forget that day, but didn't even realize how bad it was until I had gotten home from work. This still haunts me and seeing the videos still makes me very emotional. I lived there 12 yrs.,but it doesn't take living there to have it have an extreme impact on you.
