5th picture Meme

Millie's House tagged us for the 5th picture meme. So we are to
Open your file folders (pictures),
click on the fifth folder,
and then the fifth photo,
Post the photo to your blog and describe it.
Then tag 5 other bloggers.

Here is our picture, 5th of 5th folder.

This is Elvira. I adopted her to keep company with a red chicken that showed up in my backyard, eating the bird seed on the ground. They stayed in and around the yard for about 2 years. One day I noticed Vivian (the red chicken) hadn't been around for a while. We figured a coyote got her. Then one night I heard Elvira screaming in the backyard. A stray cat had her. I chased off the cat, but Elvira looked dead. I scooped her up to take her into the garage and she came around. She had lots of punctures and missing feathers. I doctored her the best I could and put her in my biggest PTU for the night. I kept her in a cage and fed her crickets and chicken feed for a few weeks and then took her to the barn where there were a bunch of other chickens and she moved in like she belonged.
I miss them. It was cool having chickens in the yard.

I can't think of any blogs to tag that haven't already done this. But it was kind of fun, so if you haven't been tagged, go for it :)

Mom says she likes that story. We hope that Elvira lived a long and happy life after she got to the barn. But... poor Vivian! Mom was just thinking, if you like chickens, you might like "Chicken Blog." Interesting stuff there, but not all just about the chickens. Lots of human stuff.

Wow. Chickens. That sounds so cool. It was good she managed to escape and get well.

But we also think the cat that attacked was just a little bit cool. That's a big bird to take on.
