Summer Lied

She said she was being good about taking her pills. She lied. She's put the bitey on Mom 3 times now. So Mom gave up. We're asking the V-E-T what to do instead. Don't let this innocent face fool ya.

Can you get the pills made into a liquid? We always had to do that with Smudge and now with Georgia. And Everett took his liquid medication no problem with Solid Gold tuna food (but nothing else). Hopefully something works.

Ouch! We hope you find something that Summer will take without biting your mom.

Uh oh! The bitey hurts, mom knows. Were you able to try the greenies pill pockets? Hopefully the vet will find a good solution for Summer!

Usually it's easier to give pills for me. I hate the pink liquid stuff, it gets everywhere. Summer liked the pill pockets the first 2 days, the battle started after that. We'll see what the vet says.

you might be able to have her meds compounded into a nicely flavored suspension--like chicken or tuna. Have your vet try BCP at bcpvetpharm.com

Summer...bad kitty. We can only get liquid druggies 'cause we won't take pills neither.

Good luck! I'm pretty good with the pills, but when I was a kitten, mom would wrap them in cheese!

We don't like liquid or pills. Mom just gives up and has the vet give us the expensive shot!

Yikes! I was really having problems with Franklin clawing me every time I gave him a pill - until he figured out the treat connection. I don't like the liquid either (I think it's harder to give!)

We hope things get better soon.

The suspension comment is a great idea. Definitely ask the vet if it would be alright to crush the pills and maybe you can put them right in her food!

Oh dear! We don't like taking pills either!

We think that it's a good idea that you ask the vet about hiding the pills in her food.

Pills make me change from a laid back softy into a stark raving lunatic. Mum has to stab me if I need medication. I get my wormers and everything by being stabbed.

Mommy uses a pill shooter to give me my pills (2 pieces a day). I get a treat after, so now I actually come running if Mommy calls me for pills or I hear her cutting up pills for me.

We have to give both liquid and pills to Floyd - the really bright pink amoxi gets on stuff and is hard to get off, but most of the time he tolerates it. With pills we put them into soft treats (the pill pockets are good but Floyd will only eat them without a pill in them). You could try that - I have also used cheese (but Floyd has to eat lower fat stuff). I try to vary the type of treat so he doesn't get bored but it is hard to find the soft kind - if you have them available you could try that with different types on different days.
