The Mac is flying off to the computer hospital

We were so hoping the black screen of death was just a one time glitch. But no, Sunday night it died for good. With hope in our hearts, Mom took it to the Apple store in Tampa, hoping it was something they could magically fix. But no. It has to go to the Apple hospital. Apparently it is a problem that this model and year is known to have. Some hardware part. Of course we are out of warranty but since it's an Apple problem it won't cost anything. Phew. But Mom is @#*&&%# at this computer because it's so very slow. And Mom wants to say a VERY BIG THANK YOU to Rod, who got her started backing up her computer every 10 days. She doesn't even want to think about everything she would have lost without doing it.

So we're sorry to say we won't be around a lot for a while.

I am so sorry to learn about your computer problems. It is so distressing when we lose this wonderful way of communicating. I do not know about Mac's - hope the fix is easy and not too expensive.

Our Hooman's macbook had a similar problem. It got fixed after a couple of weeks. They said the problem was with the inverter..

Hope your computer gets fixed soon too :)

That stinks that the computer died. I had that happen too - at least you know to back up everything so you won't loose it! I am glad it can be fixed and that it won't cost you anything - that is good at least.
