Babe's bloodwork results

Babe had a regular check up this past week. She's my 19 year old in kidney failure girl. For almost 2 years I've been giving her sub-q fluids three times a week to help flush out the waste her kidneys would normally do. In the past few months she has lost about 1 lb, which had me thinking the sub-q's were no longer keeping up with her needs. So, when Dr. B called with her blood test results, I was prepared for the worst. BUT she told me her results were BETTER than her last check up. Yea Babe!! I think her weight loss is because her sister is on a "mature" Science Diet food. The new food isn't a hit with either of them, so I've decided at their age, the heck with a special diet, let them eat what enjoy. So they're back to Fancy Feast and seem happier about it. I know I feel better :-)

Mewowza! That's great mews! I was able to keep my CRF kitty for 5 extra years because of sq fluids. Because he had a heart defect (HCM) I could only give him 60cc at a time, so he got it every day and his BUN (which at it's worst was 160) stayed at about 50, his Creatinine under 3, and he never got anemic either. His heart problem took him from me,not his CRF, and I miss him every day, always will, but I treasure those extra years with him.
